how much is the waiting time for CP interview once your 140 is approved At Mumbai Consulate?

Is there any way to get faster CP interview date?

It takes approximately 6-8 months after I-140 is approved. To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to prepone your interview date. They do however postpone on request, if the date given is not suitable. Visit www.cptracker.com for getting an understanding of the timelines for Mumbai consulate for some recent cases.

By the way, when was your I-140 approved? I have also opted for Mumbai consulate and my I-140 was approved in July 2004

In I - 140 application I have opted for CP .

If you have opted for CP processing during your I-140 then as stated above it will take max of 6 months to 8 months but in case you haven' t stated that then you need to file I-824 to change the process from AOS to CP and after getting the receipt your lawyer can forward your papers and approval and the I-824 receipt notice to Mumbai consulate as AC-140 case and then you should expect every thing in 2 months time frame "


Does in meam that going through I 824 is much faster than going through direct CP.

How long does it take to get I - 824 receipt.

I have mentioned CP as my choice on I 140 application. Can I still go for I 824.

AC-140 which requires filing I824 is faster than normal CP which takes about 6 months in most cases.

You CANNOT file I824 now since you have already indicated CP in your I140.

I wish there was a way to request Mumbai consulate for earlier interview dates.
