I have to travel to Canada almost immediately due to a family medical emergency, but I have a few questions.
For travel to Canada, the site mentions that I need a letter of invitation if I'm travelling within 30 days. What kind of a letter am I supposed to get from someone dying of cancer?! Any templates would help. How about identification? I don't have my birth certificate with me, would a drivers license and passport suffice?
I am currently on H1 status, I do not have a visa. What is the general time frame for getting a visa from the US consulate in Toronto?
I know this is general, but what risks am I taking? Also, what do I need to keep in mind to not getting stuck in Canada?
