My parents and younger brother (21) recently got their Diversity Visa. My parents do have a good job back in their country and do not intend to come and live here. However, my younger brother does.
I just graduated from my undergrad from US and currently employed using OPT. Although I fall under STEMS, but since getting a H1B is a fairly tale now, I would like either of my parents to sponsor.
1) I am currently on status
2) Unmarried
3) Under 24 (eligible for this kind of processing)
I would like to know:
1) How long do my parents (or either parent who is sponsoring) has to come and live here in the US?
2) Can they sponsor if they just maintain their status or do they have to make income by paying taxes?
3) I know that it takes a lot of time to get my green card. I am only concerned about the work authorization. How long does my EAD card takes to come after the date of sponsoring? What petitions need to get approved before I am eligible to apply for EAD and how long does those petitions need to get approved.
Your answer in this regard will be a lot helpful to me. Thanks in advance,
