failed to register for selective service

i failed to register for selective service is there anyone who applied for status inf letter and know how long it takes and what documents are required to obtain status info letter
 
I was in similar situation. I sent copies of my passport visa pages and i got the status info letter in 6 weeks. it turns out that they SSS actually registered me and I got a SS number along with the status information
 
For at least 10 years, INS/USCIS has been automatically registering males for Selective Service as part of the green card process, if they are within the designated age range.

They sometimes forget to register some GC applicants who should be registered, so check the SSS web site or call them up to find out if you were registered.
