hey guys, can any one tell me how much longer will it take to get a visa call, my priority date is october 1999, and the current date with national visa center is january 1995. i think it'l; b close 2 like 2 more years. also does anyone know what happens when the date is like a few days away? like any noitices or what happens exactly. thankx. :D

When your priority date is current the government will send you information to you address that your I-130 was filed out to along with your lawyer (if you have one) that the government knows about. The letter, I believe will only say that your time has come to immigrate and to get documents ready, etc. I'm guessing that the F4 you fall under is India because it is the one at Jan. 1995. To say that your Oct. 1999 priority date will become current in two years is tricky. To jump four years in two years is hard to say. The dates are unexpectable and anything can occur. My guess is the PD will become current in 3+ years. Best of luck.
 
thnkx laxdef14, i just wanted to know what will happen after date comes close, so thankyou. yeah im hoping that it'll hurry up and bada bing bada boom the wait is over. only if tht was possible :eek:


also can someone tell me whether the priority dates will follow for my mum (indian citizen living in africa) from india, or from the rest of the world??? because mum was saying tht since we filed from africa, they would use the rest of the world dates.

Yeah, everyone wishes for their PD to come sooner. I am also in the F4 catagory and I am waiting for my mother's PD to become current under China. As far your mother's the date you need to look at the PD that is the location of the citizenship. Usually its the country of birth because some countries can carry two citizenships. So whatever citizenship (birth) your mother has, the date must follow that country. If you mother was born in India, she follows the India dates, if it was Africa, its the World-Wide dates.
 
tht sux then cause shes born in india. she told me tht because her friends also came from india 2 africa because they coul file faster and get visa numbers sooner. so i dont know whats true. whats ur pd lax? r u close?

One family friend of mine also went through the immigration process. Born in Hong Kong (part of Mainland China) had citizenship in Hong Kong, but he also had an Austrailian citizenship (Hong Kong allows duel citizenships). The government still counted as Mainland China because thats where he was born. That was his original citizenship.

My PD is April of 1997 under F4 for China. My mother is the beneficiary from my aunt (USC) so my father and I are also able to recieve greencards when my mom gets hers. I still have about a year or two. Maybe more, and maybe less. It all depends on how fast the system can work.
 
yeah, u guys must be only like a year -2 yrs max. good luck!! im sure u can feel the freedom from right now like i do, just like a taste kinda thing u kno.

Yeah hopefully it will take no more then two years. It has been nearly ten years already. Everyone is getting old and tired but theres nothing you can do to make the time go faster. All you can do is really wait. Good luck with everything.
