Hi PVAnil,
as we all know, it is good idea to carry as many documents as we can when going for visa application. My wife got F2 visa from mumbai consulate in May 2002. Here is the list of docs that she carried with her.
1. My I-20
2. Bank balance letter from my checking a/c
3. My last 4-6 paystubs
4. copy of my passport
5. copy of my F1 visa
6. her original passport
7. marriage certificate (extremely important)
8. wedding album (extremely important)
9. letter from my school stating that I am full-time student and expect to graduate on so and so date
10. old cards, love letters etc... that helps proving that it's not fake wedding or something. same reason for wedding album and marriage certi also.
11. additinal docs such as her educational and professional qualification, family ties back in India, PAN card etc etc....not necessary but 'nice to have handy' kinda documents.
All they asked her was to show couple of wedding pics with that 'Agnisakshi' ceremony and her visa was approved.
Hope this info helps.
Good Luck
