Hi, i am new in this thread, i hope someone could clarify some confusion.
My Father petitioned me in 2000 under the preference F2B, during those years, CSPA of Aug 6, 2002 is not yet in effect. Currently the priority date as of Aug 2010 in the Philippines is now Aug 1, 2001. Obviously my priority date is already current, however my father turned US Citizen by the year of 2007 and here where confusion starts.
CSPA section 6 states that i can opt out or exempt from automatic conversion but the petition was filed in 2000. Can i benefit from the CSPA of 2002 eventhough the petition was filed before the CSPA took effect? Hope someone could help me. Thank you.
