f2 visa expiring...filing for h1

Hello Everybody,
i am on f2 visa that is expiring in MAY.we have asked the international center of college that should i apply for extension.they told as my husband gng on OPT so i need not to apply for extension.but i am filing for H1 in APRIL. is that ok if my passport shows expiration date in MAY at the time of applying for h1.please give me suggestion what should i do in this situation...
