f2->f1 filed but now need to change address

I just filed my cos application to INS but now I have to move. I learned from the BCIS website that I can write to them to have my address changed. But the people at my school's international office told me that changing the address of an application is very difficult. I don't want to keep an apartment for another two months just to wait for a piece of mail!

Has anybody here ever changed their address successfully after an application has been filed?
