Hi, Im swapna, My husband is on a F1 visa with cpt program, work and study program in US. he went to US in Feb 09, i have applied for F2 visa last week & my visa is been denied. when i told the visa officer that my husband was working, he dint listen nor did he see my husbands i-20 which clearly states he can work 39 hrs a week, which is legal. The VO went mad at me & said that my husband is working illegally & he mentioned that i can apply again but have least hopes of getting visa. i was trying to give him an explanation that he was working legally bcoz his college & i-20 says the same thing. he was not ready to listen to all that & denied my visa. Can somebody plz help me what do i do next & when can i attend for the next interview.will ther be any prob next time i go.will they document that my husband is working illegally

The DSO at the university needs to review the papers that you have been given before you apply again. It sounds like you are missing something or do not have adequate reasources. By the way a 39 hours per weeks CPT sounds strange unless it is a semester work, semester school program. If this is the case, you may not have adequate funding if this is all you have.

If his CPT is from one of the unaccredited diploma mills, it is foolish of him to pursue this option as employers in the US look at the quality of the institution when hiring.
