F1 Visa Renewal - Husband H1 with GC applied

I am a Phd student married to an H1 who has applied for GC(still waiting for labor approval). I originally came to US on a F1 visa and got married after that. I received an extension on my I-20 and have to go to India for F1 visa extension. I am at the end of my Phd. Is it going to be a problem to go to India for F1 stamping(extension) because my husband has applied for GC and will i be considered as a potential immigrant?
What other problems that i need to be aware of? Please advise.......

Even though this thread is old, it might be of some use to others in this condition.

My wife just had to go through this exact scenario (I am on H1 with LC pending and my wife is a Ph.D student). We went for F1 Revalidation (at US consulate at Matamoros). There was no issue at all. Just be sure to remember that applying for LC is NOT same as applying for GC and answer appropriately.

Here is an excellent post on this. All of it in that post is quite relevant to
our case.

In addition to that, I was wondering the effect my status will have on my
wife's stamping. Also, I was hit with name check security clearance in india in 2004. But, there was no problem on that regard. She had taken
1. All relevent DS forms.
2. Document explaining research area from her advisor.
3. Document from here advisor indicating intent of funding her for the remainder of her Ph.D.
3. All I-20s (which also indicates that funds for education is from the university)
4. Document from ISS indicating that she was in status all along.
5. MS and Ph.D transcripts
---

We also took all her Tax documents (w2/1040s), MS degree.

---

In consulate no questions were asked, but for another person in her group, the VO did ask about the courses etc but no major issues.
She left hotel from brownsville at 7:00 and was back at 12:30. So all in all
quite efficient processing in this consulate.

Take care and Good luck
Anis
