Hi,

I have my F1 visa stamped on a damaged passport. I have already got a duplicate passport(old passport with live-VISA is already stapled to it) issued. Do i have to do get my VISA again as well. My VISA in the old passport is in perfect state. When a duplicate passport is issued, are the live visas from the old passport carried on automatically. I had infact already noted the passport office during my application of the duplicate passport, that my damaged passport had a live-VISA.

Do I need to confirm anything with the Passport Office or US consulate about this in any way.

Please help !!!!
Its very urgent for me as I am slated to travel in ten days time.

thanks in advance,
Sharad

you'll be ok, as long as your previous visa is intact and valid.you did the right thing by stapling the old damaged passport to the new one, just make sure your identifying information is the same on both passports and dont forget to have your current and valid I20 with you when you travel.
