F1 visa married with GC holder

Hello,
I am on F1 visa from 2006, I am studying MS IS. My study is going to be finish by this sptember, 2009. I already getting marraige with GC holder in April, 2008. I didnt apply Family based GC file becoz I wanted to go India, and I went to India and come back in Dec, 2008.
What is the best way?, should I have to apply file family based GC?, he is going to be citizen by end of 2011. or should I have to maintain F1/OPT and convert visa to H1?

I am really confuse in this matter, Please advice me,

If you apply as a Spouse of LPR it takes about 5 years to get GC. You can't go out of US and enter again in an F-1 visa. Wait for your husband to become a citizen then apply. Keep f-1 or h-1 status until he is a citizen.

My petition as a spouse of LPR, I am still waiting soon to be 3 years and nothing (USCIS received case and it is still pending). I applied since my husband just got his GC when we got married, so for me was either way to wait 5 years.
