Hello,
I am an Indian citizen and a landed immigrant in Canada.Have a PR card since 2003.Completed education in India and moved to Canada in April 2006.Have been working here since then.I have seeked admission fo MS in a US university.I have an interview at the Calgary consulate.I have sufficient funds to show and also have family and property here in Canada. What are the chances of getting a F1 visa?are there any problems? Is it true that chances would be slim? I am quite worried. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hu yups - I think you will be fine. With property and family ties property documented at the interview you can demonstrate an intent to return home to Canada, which is one of the key requirements.

Is there any reason you would NOT qualify for a US visa? Why would chances be slim? Are you going to a legitimate program for legitimate study, or did you buy a packet of documents from a broker to try to fool the visa officer? If it's legitimate, is there something else unusual about your situation (family members in US illegally, no clear reason for study, prior visa refusals for lying to visa officers, etc.) that would prevent you from getting a F1 visa?
