F1 Visa Application (Urgent)

Hello,

I have I485 pending, and my brother is applying F1 visa. In DS157 form, he has to declare if he has any relatives in US and what are their status. Will the fact that I am applying for GC hurt his chance of getting his F1 visa? The counselor may think since his brother is immigrating, he may as well apply for immigration too. Can anybody shed some light on this? Any similar experience after 9/11? Thanks a lot. :confused:
 
Brother's GC application by itself should not matter, especially if the applicant has parents, other siblings, property etc. in the home country. Also receiving financial aid from the school, in the past, has made the consular officers overlook potential immigrant intent.
