Hi
I am an Indian national currently abroad for the last 5 years. I work in a respected company here and I am financially sound. I have received offers from multiple schools for a PhD along with financial aid. My decision to pursue an education is to move from industry to academics. I feel that my F1 application is severely weakened from the fact that I have been abroad for several years.
Would these be sufficient to prove I have binding ties or intent to return to my home country? What else could I carry?
1) All of my blood relatives are in India. [how can I prove this?]
2) I have travelled to India every year once or more than once. I can prove that using immigration stamps.
3) I have remitted a large amount of money regularly to my parents in India. I can prove that using remittance statements.
4) My family owns 3 properties in India [in my fathers or mothers name].
regards
Manish
