Hello Guru's,
My spouse is currently on F1 Visa (I am on H1), scheduled to finish studies by mid December. In the mean time, my company has applied for our I485 (in teh beginning of Aug). Now, the question is should we apply for the OPT (Optional Practical Training) for my spouse to be able to work after the studies.
Well, I read somewhere in this forum that effectively once your I485 is applied the F1 becomes invalid. Even if you are on OPT. So, what is the use applying for opt. But then, we haven't received the I485 receipts and due to the fiasco not even sure when we may receive the receipts. So, stuck situation...
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
