I just wanna ask about my case... I'm wondering if I can still benefit from the Child Protection Act... my dad actually filed my petition last 1999 and I was only 19 years old then just 5 more days before turning 20 yrs of age. But I received the 1st notice (the one and only letter I got, ever!) and saying that no available visa for my use yet... I have a case number, and my priority date was 04Jun1999, and also I fall under F1 or unmarried daughter of american citizen... but in my understanding, he filed it when I was 19... so do you think I can still benefit from the CPA? My dad don't know what to do about it and he just said to wait... hello?! The current date for Phil is 1990 meaning I will wait for 10 years and I am 25 now!

Do I need to call the USCIS? the state department? Please give me some info, thanks.... or I'll just marry my BF who's LPR, we're planning to tie the knot next year, so he could also petition me as his spouse...

tweetyshaoi,

I don't know too much about this, but isn't the wait for LPR's spousal greencard like 4 years? I believe the wait time for fiance visa (K visa) is much less, so you may wanna explore the fiance visa option.

oh, thanks for replying...

actually my dad (USC) petitioned me when I was 19 years old under F1 category. My boyfriend left just last May but he's only a green card holder. And we decided to marry next year... so, if I'll marry my bf, he'll petition me as his spouse or I'll fall under f2a and you are right, I have to wait for 3-5 years to get a visa to be able to see him.. my question is, if I'm still going to benefit under the Child Protection Act coz when my dad petitioned me when I was only 19...
