I hold a F1 visa in US, and plan to transfer to another university. My current university said I need to finish this semester and then they will release my SEVIS to new university. If I drop courses in this semester, I will be out of F1 status. I wonder if I drop courses and come back to my country, can the new university issue me a new I-20 form as a newly admitted student not as a transfer student? If I drop the courses, will my current university release my SEVIS immediately? Will these effect on my future application to F1 visa? Anyone meets this case?
