Hello all,

I recently changed my status from F1 to H1B within the US after completing my Masters degree on F1. Now I am thinking of visiting India and also get the H1B stamped in Chennai.

I have the following concerns.

1. Since the state dept changed the drop box rules in July, I cannot apply for stamping by Drop Box system. Are there any risks when appearing for an interview?

Also which is a better choice, do get my Visa Stamped in Canada or Chennai.

2. I was looking at my approved LCA recently and found that the Wage Rate is $2000 lower than the prevailing wage. I have read that the wage rate has to higher than prevailing wage, if that is true what I don't understand how my LCA got approved and I-129 approved.

Does the consular officer look at the LCA and my payslips and raise questions, how can I explain if he/she asks any questions about the lower wage rate than prevailing wage.

Any kind of help is appreciated.

LCA wage rate or I-129 wage rate

hi
I have a question for u all folks... my salary mentioned on the LCA is 25 % lower than the salary mentioned on I-129. However the salary mentioned on the LCA is within the -5 % range of prevailing wages of 2002 .i.e. when my LCA was filed.
Now my question is which salary should i get to have no problems in the visa stamping or revalidation ... i mean the W2 wages, should they correspond to the salary mentioned in LCA or I-129.

thanks
