F1 to H1 stamping in Calgary

Hi,

I am planning to go to the consulate in Calgary, Canada for my visa stamping on Nov22. I have been in the US for the past 3 1/2 years and have changed from F1 to H1-B in Jan'04 and have never been out of status.

I have changed my employer in Sep'04 and have been with the employer2 for the past 2 months and I just have 2 monthly pay stubs from the employer2

I have few questions and would appreciate if someone could let me know if I need to take any precautions.

1)Is it suggested to go to the Calgary consulate and could any please let me if they have heard of any recent rejections. I am little apprehensive since I couldn't find much information or experiences about Calgary

2)Is it enough if I take the two most recent monthly pay stubs from my new employer and the pay stubs from the previous employer since Jan'04. Is it OK if I have gaps for a few weeks when I changed from employer1 to employer2.

3)I have had applied for H1 premium transfer and will be getting in a couple of days. Is it fine to take the I-797 to the consulate as soon as it is received.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hi Reddy,
Was searching thru the net when I saw your mail. Am in almost the same situation as you were.. F1 till Jan 26th, then H1 till September and transfer in October.. I have a ticket booked to India on Dec 19, and have an appointment on Dec, 17th at the US consulate in Vancouver, Canada. Just got my premium processed H1 too (around 17th November)
I did not get US consulate appointments anywhere else at such a short notice, either in India or Mexico or other places in Canada.

Just 2 questions, although you have not done your processing yet..
I will have 2 or 3 paystubs from the new company to show INS. I have almost a month gap between old and new employer paystubs.. Any idea now, if this is bad ?
MAIN question,
Did u find how many days it will take ? Is same day processing possible ? My appointment is at 10:30 am, so I am cutting it too short ? Are there any time consuming verifications ?
You can reply me in sri1ram (at) yahoo.com or 408/629/5664 and keep in touch.
Please reply as I just cannot seem to find anyone to answer me on this.
Thanks a million in advance if u can,
Take care,
Sri
