Hi,
Is it possible for someone to come here on an F1 (community college or a Masters program or a PhD), and change to a H-1 in 6-12 months provided they are qualified and can find a job and an employer who is ready to sponsor them?
Do they have to go back to the home country to get the passport stamped and answer questions about why they switched status etc? Don't they have to maintain the F1 status or do people change like this quite typically? Is it possible that once they reach the home country they might not ever come back here even if they have the H-1 papers?
Ultimately it is about trying to bring a girl here so she can marry a GC holder but there are so many hoops to jump through. Even getting an F1 is tough because of the "intent to migrate" clause. Any help, guidance, would be appreciated. Thanks.
