i am on f1 vise currently. i will mary a us citizen. how long after we get married does it take for me to start paying in state tuition?

p.s. ive been living in arizona as a f1 student for 1.5 years.

it depends on school policy. my school needs a year and one day from the day you apply for GC or when you get GC - whichever comes first.

I went to ASU. You need to have lived in the state for one year prior to the semester you want to be considered instate and that includes the time you were on F1 even when your i-485 is pending.

Many states will count the time spent since your I-485 is pending towards the one year of residence, but not the time before you filed the I-485, unless you were in a status like H1/H4 or L1/L2. Go to the school's web site to find out.

In my sch i have had to pay out-of-state until this spring semester. I had to have my GC in hand before I could pay in-state. Unfortunately but the time i got it this semester, the refund deadline had passed.
