I have a MS degree (Nov 2003) after which I had got OPt period...I couldn't find a job in that OPT period and have use the loan to pay my tuition fees. Now I am on my second masters degree (just before OPT expired) and F1 status again. Now that my F1 visa is getting expired in August. I have financial aid in this second masters degree which supports 75 percent of the tuition fees and hardly 5 courses plus thesis to go on....The rest 25 percent I pay from stipend plus savings... Even then the financial support source is required for evidence and needed in F1 renewal..right?.... I have managed a decent 3.00 GPA (grades are ok...)
Is there a greater probability of getting rejected on F1 visa renewal(I have never been out of status and in good intention).....because of the loan default .... the GPA score.......(grades ok)..... and my inability to get a job during my OPT search....
Also I hear that if you have never been to India during the last five years(I have never been back home owning to finance considerations ...and other work related issues at school..) you will be declined for F1 visa renewal.......
Is it true?...
Also location Canada/Mexico or back in my home country can you let me know chances of getting it renewed... Canada is difficult.... Abt India?... That is where I had my F1 visa stamped.....initially....
