F1-OPT-H1 Need help ......Urgent

Hello there,
I came to USA on F-1, finished my MS and applied for EAD. Upon Approval of EAD, I started working for an employer. The employer has applied for my H1 right now but I haven't received it yet. I have received the receipt of my H1 application from INS though. My OPT has expired in August but the H1b application receipt is dated much before the OPT expiration date. Can I still work for this employer and get paid?

Any help on this would be highly appreciated.
 
No, you cant work beyond your EAD. You have to wait until you get your H1 is approved. It might be prudent to consider premium processing becuase the the $1000 fee can be compensated by say working for a week (better to pay $1000, get approval and work rather than sit at home).
