I am a graduate student on a F1 Visa. My fiance has just got his green card. We are planning to get married next year when I visit my country. When I visit my country I will also need to get my Visa extended because of a change in my I-20 (from a masters to a PhD program). I will really appreciate if someone can tell me if there can be any problems when I apply for a Visa extension - or just share their experiences if they have a similar situation. Aditionally i am wondering if I can file for a green card once we are married or if i need to file a green card individually. could someone please throw some light on the implications.
I am extremely worried about the possible problems with my green card in the future and really confused. Any help will be highly appreciated.
