Hi, everybody,
I have a question here. I am now an F-1 student, and holding an on campus job. My husband is now applying for H1b while I am applying for H4 with him. He requested his H1b to be effective on Dec. 1, 2004.
1) because his approval date should be in sept. or oct. . is it legal if I work until Dec. 1, 2004, the day his H1b will be effective?
2) if I can work until Dec. 1, 2004, but the pay check will be dated after that day, since the payroll office give the pay check after we turned in the time-sheet, which means the pay check date should be after Dec. 1, 2004? is that to make me work illegally?

thanks a lot. I appreciate any answer very much.

Since your H-4 starts on Dec 1. 2004, you are in F-1 until November 30, 2004. So you should be able to work until Nov.30th. I guess, your pay check/stub will mention the pay period. As long as you dont work after Nov. 30th, I think you should be fine.

Thank you very much!
but I only see the check date in my pay checks, didn't see the pay period in the checks.
I will check it again. :)
