F1 - H1b

Hi experts,

I need your help please. I know nothing about those stuff so your inputs are highly appreciated.

I'm currently on OPT which will expire after a couple of days (06/14/2008). My employer applied for H1b with change of status on my behalf and told me that I have been selected in the lottery. according to this I get automatic F1 and OPT extesion, right? Is there is anything extra I need to do???

Also, my wife is on F2 now, Does she also get auto extension? Do I need to apply for change of status for her too?

Please guys help as I can't find the answer anywhere!!! the school counslour knows nothing about it, the employer just keep telling me to do my homework, and google is returing a huge amount of data but nothing usefull there!

Please furnish more details on your case such as when did F-1 expired, how long were you on OPT etc. By the way, the new H-1 will start from October 1, 2008.

The OPT started by 06/15/2008 expires by 06/14/2008.
The F1 on my passport expires 08/02/2008, my wifes F2 06/14/2008
is this enough info? please help me as I know nothig but visa issues
