F1->H1B visa stamping - canada, mexico or india?

Hi All,

I am currently on my F1 visa & will be getting my H1B visa in a few months time.

Do I need to go out of the country after visa status change, to get visa stamped?

Also, since I am planning to goto India after getting H1B, is it advisable to get it stamped in Chennai or is Mexico preferable?
