F1 getting married to Green card

I am on F1 status and about to get married to a green card holder. What are the problems expected regarding change of status and applying for green card. Should I take any specific precautions before applying for green card?
 
There might be problems in changing status from F1 to Permanent Resident(Green Card). On F1, you are expected to finish your education and return to your home country. You can't have "dual intent"(intention to become an immigrant). If you are on H1, you can have "dual intent".

Also, if you are getting married to someone who just has a Green Card, your Green Card may take anywhere between 5 to 8 years. The best option is to wait until your husband gets his citizenship. You, in the meantime, can finish ur studies, start working on H1 and wait.

These are my observations. You should talk to a competent immigration attorney before you decide anything.
