Not sure if I made a mistake by sending INS my husband's original I-20 (with me listed as dependent) to have my status changed from F1->F2. I already got the approval notice and I realized I don't have an I-20 anymore!
INS always asks for legible copy of required document. And only applicant's original I-20 is required coz they have to stamp it.
My international advisor warned me against sending my husband's I-20 as INS does not have time and manpower to send you back your original documents except for your stamped
I-20(applicant's) and I-94.
And now as you have already sent it, I believe you should contact them with your WAC number(receipt number) by mail and ask them to send your husband's I-20 back. They should be having all documents you sent in your file. And be assured to wait for the same for long time.
Best thing to do before taking any action would be to contact school's International Advisor. At times they make things easier by contacting INS on there own.
