F1 Extension & H1B filing

Hi,

I would really appreciate if any one can guide me here.

I am currently on F1 that is good till May 22, 2007. I found a employer who is willing to file an H1b on April 1st 2007.

Here is the problem:

I want to file for an F1 extension right now (as the H1B will only be good from October 1, 2007). In case I do not get it by April 2007, is it OK to have two applications i.e., H1B & F1 extension pending at the same time.

Thanks in advance
Vinny

Hi,
You can apply for OPT and work for the employer instead of extending your F-1 visa. this will a stop gap arrangement until you get the H-1 B visa.Hope this helps.
