F1 & diversity lottery at the same time

Hi Gurus,

My friend needs your advice .
She is in F1 visa right now and at the same time she won a GC lottery number.
Right now she just started a process of receiving GC trough diversity visa (lottery) program.
Her F1 going to be expired at January 2006 and November 1 and November 9 she had an invitation to take Biometrics for EAD and I-485
The question is: does she need to re-apply for F1 again or continue the I-485 process without re-applying for F1.

If she has filed I-485 based on the DV lottery, then she does not need to renew F1. Just filing I-485 will let her stay in US as long as the decision is pending.
