If an F1 student child of an LPR applies for college admission in the USA, and since he has been in the US for a sufficient period of time , he may qualify for instate tuition which is less than out of state tuition.... however the university is asking for his signature on several papers in order to approve instate tuition, one of them states that " he will apply for US citizenship as soon as he is eligible" . If he signs this paper, does this indicate immigration intent??does this make his F1 visa invalid ?? he is not eligible for citizenship now, so he realy isnt applying for it, and will not be applying for it any time soon. so how do we handle this situatuion?? do we sign it or not?? will his F1 be valid if we sign this paper??? Thanks for your input... we are realy confused.
