F1-B1 Denied.. H1B Approved

Hi guys

I am in a critical situation. Can somebody please suggest me the options and what i need to do?

I completed PhD in may 2006. Applied for OPT from June 26th 2006 and it expired on June 25th 2007. On June 20th I applied for B1 visa to remain in status. Meanwhile my H1B got apporved. There is no I94 on H1B Paper and i also received letter stating that my request for change of status is being denied because after June 26th I am not on status (They didnt know at that time that I applied for B1).

Now on Oct 6th my B1 got denied.(Still didnt receive the letter stating reason). So what is my current status? Can I say I am on H1B? Should I leave country immediately for stamping? What should I say to consuler officer regarding my B1 rejection?

Please provide your advice.

I suggest you consult with an immigration attorney. Call few up. Some give the first consultation for free. Talk to at least two of them to see if they match.

I don't think you will have an I-94 unless you get one when you enter the country (or at least that's what I know. If somebody else knows differently please correct me on this one).
