I am on F 1 visa currently which expires Jul 2006. Unfortunately I got involved in a violent situtaion on campus and was arrested. I will be pleading guilty to a misdemeanor Class B charge (max sentence 30 days in prison and $ 500 fine) and there will be a deferred imposition of the sentence. After a certain length of time, most probably after 1 year, if I don't get into any further trouble and keep a clean record, then I will be allowed to withdraw my guilty plea and the case will dismissed. Moreover I will have a clean record after that.
Now I am wondering if after the case gets dismissed and my records are cleared, will I still have problems renewing the F 1 visa in future. I guess I will have to mark Yes on the form for the question on arrest and other stuff.
Plz advice me on what will be the probable consequences for future visa renewals and immigration matters. Thanks in advance.
