Thank you for this amazing work of yours. I am currently on F-2 visa in USA and am looking to switch to F-1 visa to pursue Masters in January 2024, condition I get admitted. My current F-2 visa is valid until February 2024.
1) Assuming I get admitted and get a new i-20, can I start studying in January 2024 or do I have to wait for change of status from F-2 to F-1 first and only then start studying? Can this process of change of status be simultaneous with my studies?
2) My husband will most likely opt for Day-1 CPT in January 2024. Do I have to reapply for F-2 visa or am I automatically granted a new F-2 visa? Based on this, do I wait until January 2024 and then request for a change of status from F-2 to F-1 based on my new F-2 visa and i-20 from my admission? Again, can I enrol for masters during this time and simultaneously do this process?
