f-1 visa to greencard

hi,
My parents got green card in 2000 dec. I didn't get green card because I was above 21. Almost 22 that time. I came to u.s. in Dec 1999 on F-1 visa. My parents have applied for my green card around feb 2001. So I have to wait for my green card for 8 years or so.
But now I guess Ins come out with one new rule which has come into action (i.e. what my friends say) where you are given green card directly by filling out one form if you are above 21. so that you don't have to wait for longer time. You get green card within 6 months or so.

Please advise.

Thanks.
Jaymil.

Oh jaymil, if only that would be true!

:) Anybody with any information on this, please POST! :) :)

We (3 in our family) got our green cards, but our other daughter missed it by a couple of months as well.
She is on a F1 visa now and we are worried that she would have to leave eventually.

Had we known the ins and outs properly, we would have never come to the US.

You might get answers if you post on other forums like GC/V visa/family unity etc. Good luck.
