F-1 Visa Status refusal under 221(g)

I am reaching out to seek guidance regarding my current visa situation. I received an I-20 form from USC's Viterbi School of Engineering for the MS in Engineering Management program for the Spring 2025 intake.
After my visa interview on November 22, the officer approved my visa and took my passport. However, on December 4, my visa status changed to refusal under Section 221(g).
Subsequently, I received my passport back on December 7 without a visa stamp, accompanied by a white slip indicating that my application is under Additional Administrative Processing. The slip mentioned that I do not need to appear at the U.S. consulate at this time and that I should await further communication via email. Given this situation, I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice you could provide regarding the next steps I should take or any resources that might assist me during this process.
Thank you for your time and support.
