F-1 student and serving in a non-profit organization's founding board of directors?

Does anyone have information about this:

I am an F-1 student and have been asked to serve as a member of the founding board of directors of a non profit arts organization. It will be purely voluntary and none of the members of the board get paid. Is there any problem associated with this?

Ok thanks JoeF, I am actually just back from consulting with a lawyer and he basically said the same thing.
