Sir,
I initially had a visa from 1998 for 5 years (f-1 for a ph.d). I stopped with a masters in that university and then moved over to another university for a ph.d. After I moved to this university, my visa period had expired, which meant I had to get it restamped in my home country. I had come here to my home country to get my renewal when the visa officer, felt that I needed to send in answers to more questions by e-mail (questions with regard to my future goals, my present research project etc). I sent in the answers by e-mail and am presently waiting for the consulate here to get in touch with me. I contacted them yesterday after a 2 week wait and I was told that my file was awaiting "clearance" from washington. I am not exactly sure what that means. Would you know the answer to this question. I also want to know how this will transpire ? After the "clearance" is completed, will I be asked to appear for another interview ? Please Advice ! Thanks !
