F-1 DV 2007 Winner, Need Help

SteveK

Hello all! I'm a Dv 2007 winner currently in the US on an F-1 visa. I've decided to go for CP and my number is EU13XXX which by the looks of things should be up in March sometime. I will be flying back to Ireland for my interview but I have a couple of questions that I hope someone could answer:

1. Can I get my medical check done here in the US and then bring the results back or do I have to get the medical done at the appointed place in Ireland?

2. I lived in Australia from 2000-2002 and I received my police certificate for Australia in August of this year. If my interview is in March will they accept this or will it be expired? Bear in mind that I have never been back to Australia since so the certificate will show a clean record for me either way.

If anyone can give me help with this it would be much appreciated, cheers!

1. My understanding is the medical may not be done in the US (per the second packet instructions) if you are doing CP. It will need to be done in Ireland. If you know the list of doctors approved to do the exam, call them to find out how long it will take to receive the results -- that will tell you how far in advance of your interview you need to arrive in Ireland.

2. Call or email the consulate that will handle your case. They will be able to tell you how long your documents will be considered valid. This varies from country to country.

Good Luck!

Hi SteveK,

1) No, you will have to see one of the doctors listed in the 2nd package.
2) You should call the consulate where you'll have your interview. Even if you have to pay a fee for that, the info will be invaluable.
You could also ask about the methods of payment accepted there, ...
