Hi,

I am currently in the US on F-1 and my father has filed I-485 for me. The first thing that i am not sure is if i am still on F-1 . The second thing that i wanted to ask you people is whether i still have to keep up my F-1 status.

My main problem is this. I have an offer for a Co-op from a well known company and i am ready to work there as i already have my EAD card. But to work there i will need to take a break from school next semester, which means that my F-1 status will be in a dileama. so i wanted to ask if any of you around here know if i still have my F-1 status and if i still have it do i have to maintain it till my GC gets approved.

any help will be really appreciated.

Thanks......

I guess you are not on F1 now

"My view not a legal opinion"
since f1 is a nonimmigrant visa and not dual intent like H1, a person on f1 loses his student status as soon as 485 is filed. he would now be on the "adjustment of status" thing. you status is still valid and you can work anywhere based on ead but you are not on student status. get a legal opinion though.
