Extentibility of H-1B

I was informed by someone today that if we renew H-1B visa prior to August 1st 2006, the visa could be extended for an indefinite amount of time. I was told that there was some law which came out about 6 months ago and I do not seem to be aware of it. As far I know the maximum validity period of H-1B is 6 years. Has anyone heard of such a law? If yes, then please do reply.
