Extension of stay on multiple entry visa for my mother

I am a permanent resident of US. My mother received 6 months of stay here. I will be going to India as a speaker to participate in a scientific conference and would like my mother should travel with me as she is old/feels more comfortable rather than travelling alone. For this reason she might have to extend her stay here.

My question is - will it be possible to get extension of visa/stay in US? Can we approach local INS and give aforementioned reason for this purpose or is there any form I need to submit to INS? Please reply asap and your help is greatly appreciated.

you have to send forms. For details goto B visa category in this forum or goto www.immihelp.com. Also remember the current fees is $140 instead of $120 as given in the I539 form.
