Extension of EAD + SSN for L2 visa holder

Hi ,

I need answer to the foll. two questions :

Q1. My wife who is on a L2 , just received her EAD on 9th Dec 2004
Both of our L visa status are valid till , March 25th 2005.
Now our L visas will be extended only in Jan 2005 end or Feb 2005 first week.
The question is since the renewal has to be done 90 days in advance
how do we go about renewing her EAD , so that she doesnt have to wait, for a long time of 3 months till the renewal of the EAD is done by USCIS.

Q2. Can she get a SSN , using her EAD card ?

I am still waiting to learn about the answer to the first question . As far as the second is concerned - yes she can get an SSN with her EAD. Just go to the local Social secutiy office and fill out the relevant form and show them the EAD. My wife got hers within a couple of weeks.
