My case became current since March 2006 (PD Sept 2000). Instead of adjudicating the case NSC gave me one RFE. After replying to the RFE I was hoping they would be granting my case. Last LUD on my I-485 was when they received my RFE in June 06. Then there was an LUD on my approved I140 in July. After that there was nothing. In Sept I asked my Senator to find out my case status from NSC. Within 20 days Senator sent me the reply from NSC saying that everything is complete and since July my file is in a secure area and the congressional Nebraska doesn't know why it went there or how long it will be there. In between Sept and Dec last year I raised one SR every month and the reply to those were different each time from waiting for assignment to background check still open etc. In Dec I placed a request with Ombudsman and Ombudsman forwarded the request to his contact person in NSC and the as usual the reply to me is the same. From Jan this year till June I kept quiet and when they made everything current I am calling NSC almost everyday. I even sent one expedite request and NSC replied within 5 days that my request doesn't warrant expedited processing. I reopened my case with Senator again and the reply from NSC was same which I received yesterday.NSC officers are consistent that my Namecheck is complete and it is under extended/ additional review and nobody can give any time frame. I am seeing cases with recent PD and RD than mine getting approved.
I am thinking that something happened to my case and other similar cases (may be they lost the file or something).
Gurus, Is WOM only option for me? Is there any other way I can make NSC start processing my case. It is not that NSC is not processing I-485. They are, which is evident from the recent spate of approvals. One and half years after my PD became current and almost three year after RD is too much of a time for adjudicating since they are already approving case with PD/RD later than mine.
