Hi all,
I recently changed to a new company and my H1 got approved. My 6-year term is suppossed to end in July,2005. However, the new H1 approval I got has the petition period valid till September,2006. I guess it is a mistake on the part of BCIS to give me an extra year. What action am I suppossed to take? Inform BCIS that the petition validity is wrong? Or should I leave it alone and enjoy?

Before I talk to the company lawyer I want to know from one of you guys. Because, if I leave the company, I do not want this to haunt me.

Thanks a lot guys.
K.

Your 6 year period ends in July 2005. It is upto you to watch the 6year period. If you stayed even a day longer than July 2005 on H1, your future status in US is gone for ever. Remeber there are enough proof of dates lying around for them to come and count the 6 year. They rely on your integrity and honesty to leave by 6 year or change to some other visa.
