Explanation document for AP?

Hello all,
The I-131 says

"On a separate sheet(s) of paper, please explain how you qualify for an advance parole document and what circumstances warrant issuance of advance parole. Include copies of any documents you wish considered."

I just have a covering letter requesting AP, do I need a document to explain why I need it too?

Guys who already filed - please throw some light.
