Any thoughts on the H1B cap limit @19500 set to expire this September. Unless extended, I understand, it will fall back to 65K. Any idea what impact, if any, it has on immigrant community, especially, the adjustees waiting for 485 approval?

I think, that CNN-shown anti-h1b report was preparing grounds against any movements to prolong 195K quote...

With this kind of economy and unemployment ratio, no one will back the 195000 cap limit. It will go back to the 65000 limit.

May be some of the immigration officers can be diverted to I485.

The limit falling back to 65K is certain.

I don't think that will have any effect on 485's speeding up because already INS isn't getting enough applications for h1, so it's not like their resources are booked up.

Who knows that might even help the labor market.
